UNTHINKABLE BETRAYAL, FDA APPROVED

It was August 2009 that Children's Health Advocates Petitioned the FDA on behalf of the American people. This Petition requests that the FDA publicly disclose developmental (fetal, infant, and child) physiological, reproductive, and neurological adverse effects caused by a particular food product as admittedly acknowledged in secrecy by the FDA. To date, nearly a year and a half later FDA Commissioner Hamburg, FDA Labeling Director Schneeman, and FDA Formula Director Silverman have not responsibly replied while completely disregarding their promised duty to protect the health of the American people, especially America's children.

HHS, IACC Dr. Insel is another to confirm that soy phyto-estrogens have, "endocrine disrupting properties." It is scientifically confirmed that endocrine disrupting compounds (especially during developmental exposures) cause severe physiological, reproductive, and irreversible neurological disorders such as autism and multiple behavioral, physical, and reproductive developmental disorders.

To date the FDA has access of more than 700 scientific studies all confirming that soy (naturally) contains toxic: endocrine disruptors, phytic acid, multiple heavy metals, and inhibits several essential enzymes, of which each and all are repeatedly proven (and FDA acknowledged) to cause extensive developmental body and brain damage due to fetal, infant and/or child exposure. Soy is an estrogenic endocrine disruptor and is loaded with additional developmental toxins.

Evidence proves that the FDA, time and time again refuses to allow established evidence concluding soy contamination-causation of adverse developmental health as public information.

Ask the FDA and you will find that the FDA acknowledges that consumption of soy during pregnancy is concluded throughout a multitude of published studies as capable to transfer to fetus, and is able to disrupt physiological, reproductive, and neurological development. Soy is also stated to disrupt infant health while capable to transfer through breast milk.

Soy-based formula fed to infants up to 100% of dietary intake is also study concluded as developmentally toxic. The FDA knows well that the first 3 ingredients of soy formula; Corn syrup, soy, sugar, are developmentally toxic, while without FDA withdrawal.

The FDA has not, and can not confirm developmental soy safety.

In December of 2009, the NTP/CERHR held a soy formula meeting in Alexandria, VA. The concluding remarks by the “expert panel” are this, “……because soy formula contains compounds with estrogen-like activity concern has been expressed. That soy infant formula may adversely affect human development can not be dismissed.”

Even with these NTP/CERHR concluding confessions of developmental soy poisoning, the “expert panel” decided NOT to allow massive evidence proving soy formula poisoning as public information. It is proven that 12 out of the 14 “expert panelists” on this soy formula committee are directly and/or indirectly soy industry funded. A remaining panelist, Dr. Ruth Etzel voiced her outrage at panel decision as reckless and untrue, as they choose to conceal their conclusions of soy formula toxicity, instead of reporting soy toxic conclusions as equally available for public information.

NIEHS scientists, (Doerge, Sheehan, Newbold and more), have for several years reported directly to the FDA on multiple soy studies that repeatedly confirm adverse developmental effects are caused by pre-and post-natal soy exposure. The FDA refuses public disclosure.

1999 FDA Federal Register reports: "GRAS status of soy protein food ingredients did not include a thorough evaluation of the safety of potentially harmful components, e.g. lysinoalanine, nitrites, and nitrosamines, trypsin inhibitors, phytate and isoflavones."

FDA remains mute about soy toxins even 12 years later! Each and all of soy's multiple toxic components are repeatedly scientifically proven as largely developmentally poisonous to fetus, infants, and children, while remaining FDA withheld from public information.

Alarmingly, the FDA is allowing outrageous increase in the marketing of soy, the contamination of infant and children's foods while completely disregarding food laws requiring WARNING LABELS, and soy formula WITHDAWAL, based upon the multitude of FDA evidence that repeatedly proves increasing adverse health risks caused by developmental soy poisoning.

Congressionally mandated protective food laws remain simply FDA ignored; without FDA investigation, without FDA accountability, without FDA moral and ethical obligation towards the American people.

It is again, unthinkable FDA betrayal that Public Law 109-416 “Combating Autism Act,” that demands public disclosure of evidence of autism causation, while remaining FDA, NIH, and HHS IACC ignored. These federal health organizations have access to in-depth scientific evidence that repeatedly proves soy’s toxic component(s) cause irreversible neurological distress and disorders such as autism......without public disclosure.

The FDA, NIH, and HHS can tell you they have NO evidence to confirm that these poisonous soy components; estrogenic endocrine disruptors, phytic acid, multiple heavy metals, and inhibitors of seveal essential enzymes are safe or nutritional during developmental exposures. And they can tell you that severe developmental adverse soy toxic effects are repeatedly concluded throughout a large number of published studies.

An immediate FDA investigation must question exactly why the FDA has chosen to protect the multi-billion dollar soy industry…..rather than their promised duty to protect the health and well-being of America’s children?

All as stated above can confirms unthinkable FDA betrayal. To this day, the FDA continues to simply ignore massive evidence proving soy-poisoning-causation of severe and irreversible diseases and disorders resulting in a lifetime of unnecessary pain and suffering caused to once healthy fetus, infants, and children.

A congressional investigation of FDA betrayal is past due! Until then, the FDA will simply continue to deliberately withhold from public information their known mass evidence proving develpmental soy poisoning.
